Dear Dedicated Goalie,
Don’t worry, I am not going to waste your time trying to convince you that off-ice training is a must if you want to have a long, productive and enjoyable career as a goalie.
You already know that goaltending in hockey is not only one of the most technically demanding, but also physically demanding positions in all of sport. And you already know that the price you can pay for your passion (some would say affliction) can range from frustration at a disappointing loss all the way to despair when plagued by debilitating injuries, which left untreated to fester over time can result in trips to the operating room.
Maybe you have already tried to include some off-ice training but found that it left you feeling more tired, less flexible and maybe even less dynamic in net. Or maybe you have never even tried to improve your game with dryland training, not because you are lazy (although that may be what your coaches try to tell you), but because you just don’t know where to start.
There are literally thousands of exercise programs out there that you can get at your local gym, buy off the TV or download from the internet, not to mention all the amateur ‘training guru’s’ out there who’s training philosophy is based on…”This is what I did when I played AAA hockey 30 years ago”. Wow, thanks for your help.
Now for the magic…there is a magic to having a plan, to being accountable, to being part of a team. Part of it is that idea of a whole being greater than the sum of its parts. We have all experienced this through out our athletic careers.
When you know what to do and you actually do it you set in motion the Momentum of Action. Having others who are a part of the same mission, who are there to not share your journey, but travel the same path helps carry you along during the times when you are tempted to fall off the path. And you will do the same for them.
This is why I have created the GoalieWorkoutClub.com, I wanted to create a virtual training center that is only for goalies. A place where we can spend our time focusing on what you need to succeed. A place where you can find other goalies who are not just on a fitness kick and getting their workouts from a magazine, but goalies who are actually training for their sport, for their position. Just like you.
I have created a place where you can come for scientifically progressed training programs that would not only annihilate the boredom of doing the same thing over and over, but will march you step-by-step to greater success in net with fewer injuries.
Finally, I have created a place where all are welcome. Whether you are an aspiring NHL goalie, whether you are trying to lead your beer league team into the play-offs for the first time and even if you have just decided to strap the pads on for the first time at 43 years of age – I modified the workouts for different abilities.
It is pretty simple actually. You will enroll for a small investment – less than 1/10 of a private training session with me at the Revolution Studio and you will automatically get access to a new Workout Of The Month. You will continue to have access to workouts you have used in the past and future workouts for as long as you continue with your monthly membership.
Unlike a most fitness clubs, you can cancel your membership at anytime with no questions asked, no need for a note from your doctor, no administration fee – – just walk away and lose access to the membership site.
Have you ever felt nervous before a game? Have you ever secretly wished the other goalie was getting the start?
That nervous feeling is the fear of failure. The fear of failure comes from knowing that you did not do what was within your ability to prepare.
You see, when you prepare to the best of your ability, then you do not have that fear of failure because you know you have done what you can do and regardless of what the scoreboard says at the end of 60-minutes, you know you have done your best and so do your teammates.
If you ever decide that you no longer wish to be a member of the Goalie Workout Club, for ANY reason, just cancel your membership and you will no longer be billed.
